Ellen Touzalin Nickerson Hood letters [photocopies], 1910-1914.

Photocopies and typescript copies of letters written by Ellen Touzalin Nickerson Hood to childhood friend Louisa Catherine Adams Perkins (called Lulu) of Boston, Mass, 1910-14, pertaining to her life in Sussex, Hartford Upon Avon, Osborne, and London, England. Letters include descriptions of time spent with her husband Sir Horace Lambert Alexander Hood (called Robin), a real admiral in the British Navy and commander of the Royal Naval College, children Katherine Louise Nickerson (later James) and Samuel Hood, and other Hood family members. Also includes descriptions of vacations in Scotland and other places in Europe; visits from friends and family from Massachusetts; social engagements; church attendance; domestic activities; and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1911. Also includes a few letters written by Alexander Hood to Catherine Adams Perkins, and a detailed biographical notes written by Ellen's son Samuel Hood, describing Ellen's childhood in the United States, friends and family, and life in England.
